Social

VRChat is all about the people that come here to socialize, play and discover new worlds and interesting environments. In this section you are able to find out who is in the current world you are in and see which friends of your’s are online or offline. This is also where you are able to pull up a user’s profile and friend or unfriend them. You can also see which room they are in and either join them, ask them for an invite or invite them to your world. There are tools avaialbe in this section for you to self moderate people in your world. These include: mute, block and vote to kick. Not in the menu, but worth mentioning here, is a panic feature. Learn more in the user interactions tutorial.

System

Find all the settings and preferences that are at your disposal to help you tune the application to your liking. There are options for how you want you move your character through the 3D environment. Other options include voice and audio

Camera

This section has two options. Panorama and VRChive Panorama.

Panorama will take a 360 panorama of the virtual environment you are in and save it to your default pictures folder under vrchat.

VRChive Panorama will also take a 360 panorama of the environment but instead of saving it to your pictures folder it instead uploads it to the VRChive website. There you can view panoramas taking by various users in VRChat.

Seated/Standing Play Toggle

In order for your avatar to appear at the correct height you want to select the appropriate mode.
Note: This is only pertains to VR users.

If you are using your VR headset while sitting down then you will want to set it to seated play.

If you are standing you will toggle standing play.

Emote

One of the many ways you can express yourself in VRChat is by animating your avatar with a variety of emotes shown in the menu.

Currently there are 8 different emotes you can perform. These include: wave, clap, point, cheer, dance, backflip, die and sadness.

Emoji

You can let other people know how you feel in the moment by using one of our in game emojis. Your options are: happy face, sad face, thumbs up, thumbs down, heart and alert.Respawn

This option can be used to take you back to where you were when you first loaded into the world. This is helpful in the case that you get lost. Or simply as a means of fast travel back the way you came.

If you come across another user that is harassing, being racist, threating to do harm to another person please let us know by requesting a host. We do our best to navigate to your location and monitor the situation. A moderator will not necessarily present themselves to you. After reporting abuse it is advisable to utilize the tools provided in game to self moderate. See the user interactions section for instructions where to find those tools and how to use them.

Mic Controls

The slider on the left is used to raise and lower your voice in game. This is helpful if someone is complaining that your mic is too hot. Or is having a hard time hearing you.

Below the slider is a mute button. Use this if you have a lot of background noise that your mic picks up or if you do not want to be heard or interrupt at that moment.
